King discusses economic cooperation with Japan officials

His Majesty King Abdullah in Tokyo on Monday met with Economy, Trade, and Industry Minister Nishimura Yasutoshi, Digital Transformation Minister Kono Taro, and Chairman of the Japanese-Jordanian Friendship Association Sasaki Mikio.
At the meetings, attended by Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II, King Abdullah discussed expanding economic cooperation between Jordan and Japan, commending the historic friendship between the two countries.
His Majesty underscored opportunities for bolstering cooperation in ICT, digital economy, cybersecurity, water, mining, renewable energy, tourism, entrepreneurship, and investing in public-private partnerships.
The King noted the possibility of cooperating on projects under economic and administrative modernisation plans and expressed appreciation of Japan's support for Jordan in the economic and development fields.
The ministers of economy and digital transformation expressed Japan's keenness to enhance economic cooperation with Jordan across various fields.
For his part, the chairman of the Japanese-Jordanian Friendship Association praised the strong relations between the governments and peoples of Jordan and Japan, expressing readiness to enhance ties in service of mutual interests.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, Planning Minister Zeina Toukan, and Jordan's Ambassador to Japan Lina Annab attended the meetings.
