King discusses with Abbas Israeli aggression on Gaza

His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday held talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the Israeli aggression on Gaza.

King Abdullah stressed during the phone conversation the need for an immediate cessation of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, where the Palestinian people are going through a humanitarian tragedy and difficult conditions.

His Majesty and Abbas agreed on the need to intensify regional and international efforts to achieve calm and end the military escalation which endangers chances for a just and lasting peace.

The King stressed Jordan's full support for the Palestinian people to regain their legitimate rights, namely their right to an independent state on their national soil according to the two-state solution.
