His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday instructed the government to amend the Elections Law in preparation for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

In a letter to Prime Minister Nader Dahabi, King Abdullah stressed that these elections “should be a model of transparency, fairness and integrity, and a promising step in our process of reform and modernisation."

He also directed the government to develop the electoral process “in such a manner that the next legislative elections will be qualitatively improved and all Jordanians will practise their right to campaign and to elect their representatives in Parliament."
