His Majesty King Abdullah II left Amman for Malaysia on Monday, at the outset of a tour that will also take him to Brunei and Ireland.

The King will patronize at the Malaysia island of Langkawi on Tuesday, a joint conference for the New Asian Economic Leaderships and the Arab Business Council, which comes as a translation of the initiative presented by His Majesty during his meeting with the new Asian leaderships in the East Asia Summit held in Singapore in October, 2003.

The forum includes 100 prominent Asia figures in various fields, in addition to members of the Arab Business Council which was established during the extraordinary annual meeting of the World Economic Forum held in Jordan last year.

During his visit to Brunei, the King Will meet with Sultan Hasan Bulkiah for talks on a number of issues of concern to the two countries, as well as issues related to the Islamic world.

In Ireland, which currently holds the rotating presidency of the EU, His Majesty will discuss with the Irish President, MacAleese and prime minister Bertie Ahern, the situation in the Middle East and the role of the EU in pushing the peace process forward.

Talks will also touch on ways of promoting relations between Jordan and Ireland especially in the economic field.

King Abdullah will also meet in the Irish capital with a number of Irish businessmen to discuss scopes of cooperation in the field of information technology and investment.

His Majesty was accompanied by Minister of the Hashemite Royal Court Sameer Rifai, Minister of telecommunications and Information Technology and Minister of Administrative development Dr. Fawaz Zu'bi, and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Basem Awadallah. His Royal Highness Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Regent in the presence of cabinet ministers.
