His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday delegated Her Majesty Queen Rania and Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour to attend the funeral of former South African iconic leader Nelson Mandela.

Earlier this week, King Abdullah sent a cable of condolences to South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma, expressing his condolences over the death of Mandela.

In the cable, the King noted that Mandela has become recognised at the international level as a hero of freedom due to his many sacrifices.
