His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday received letters from Their Royal Highnesses Prince Hamzah and Prince Hashem, congratulating him over naming His Royal Highness Prince Hussein as Crown Prince.
In his letter, Prince Hamzah extended his best wishes to the King and Prince Hussein, expressing hope that his nephew will follow in the footsteps of his forefathers and bring progress and prosperity to the Kingdom.
Prince Hashem also extended his congratulations to King Abdullah in his letter, expressing his best wishes for Prince Hussein to serve and strengthen the nation.
Also Sunday, King Abdullah and Prince Hussein received cables from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who expressed his congratulations over naming Prince Hussein as Crown Prince.
In addition, His Majesty received several other cables of congratulations Sunday including one from Major General Mohammad Abbadi, president of the Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and War Veterans, and another from Chief of Islamic Justice and Imam of the Royal Court Ahmad Hilayel.
Meanwhile, representatives of various governorates, tribes, refugee camps and political parties issued statements welcoming the decision and voicing support for the King's leadership.
