His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday visited the Jordan Armed Forces’ (JAF) Southern Region Command, where he chaired a meeting of stakeholders to stand at the needs of people in the wake of a snowstorm that hit hard on several areas in the Kingdom.
The meeting was attended by JAF top brass, commanders of the military region, the governors of Karak, Tafileh and Maan, and other decision makers in the south. They discussed relief aid to areas worst hit by the three-day blizzard that started Thursday.
King Abdullah ordered delivering relief assistance and food packages to citizens affected by the storm all over the Kingdom, especially in remote and most isolated areas.
His Majesty directed the army and police to support government agencies handling the consequences of the blizzard.
On Sunday, the King visited JAF’s Northern Region Command, headquartered in Ajloun, where he discussed with top commanders, along with civilian officials, ways to serve people in the area.
On Monday, the military command said that it continued to deliver food to households isolated by the snow in areas that include Safa, Jabal Al Akhdar, Ameriyah and Ras Munif.
