His Majesty King Abdullah on Friday met with Italian Defense Minister Roberta Pinotti and German Minister of Defense Ursula von der Leyen on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference.

During the meeting with the Italian minister, King Abdullah highlighted the need to build on the outcomes of the King’s visit to Rome last year, while stressing Jordan’s keenness to boost ties with Italy in various domains.

Meanwhile, His Majesty told the German minister that Jordan was keen to cement ties with her country, mainly in the military domains.

For her part, Minister Ursula von der Leyen praised the King’s participation in the conference, noting that it was a good chance to listen to His Majesty’s vision towards the latest regional challenges and ways to address them.

She also praised the Jordanian support to the Syrian refugees, stressing the need for the international community to support the Kingdom in this regard.
