His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday stressed the importance of an independent and professional press which addresses all issues objectively and with accuracy and professionalism and contributes to Jordan's development process.

In a letter of congratulations to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on the occasion of its 40th anniversary, the King expressed his appreciation for its service and its contributions to the development of the media sector in the Jordan.
