His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday praised Jordan Radio and Television Corporation (JRTVC) as the “image and voice” of the nation, with decades of service to the country.

In a message recognising Jordan television's 45th anniversary, King Abdullah congratulated the staff on “this blessed occasion marking the history of one of the oldest media institutions, committed to its role of serving the country.”

He recalled the “remarkable” efforts by JRTV veteran staff “so that Jordan would be a leader in television broadcasting,” adding that since JTV went on air in 1968, the Jordanian screen has become “the image and voice of the nation and a forum to carry its message.”

The King urged JRTV staff to carry on in their “endeavour to convey citizens' concerns, hopes and aspirations and pursue the process of giving so that JRTVC will remain a media outlet striving for excellence.”
