His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday stressed the importance of forging ahead with efforts to build on previous national accomplishments.

“It is imperative to continue working and building on what our forefathers have built, with the same will, determination and persistence to safeguard the gift of interdependence… and hand it over to the coming generations,” King Abdullah said in a videotaped message published on the Royal Court’s Facebook page and YouTube.

The King made these remarks as the country celebrates national days: Independence Day, Army Day and the Great Arab Revolt anniversary.

“We celebrate the 68th anniversary of our country’s independence that manifested the will of this loyal and sincere people, the independence that our fathers and ancestors sacrificed a lot for,” His Majesty said.

The King stressed that the independence “was accomplished through struggle, a strong will and determination to build the best future, despite all the challenges that faced them over the years and decades”, he said.

His Majesty stressed that Jordan has remained loyal to the message of the Arab Revolt and to Arab and Islamic constants.

On the national occasions, the King expressed his pride of every Jordanian officer and soldier in the Jordan Armed Forces and security agencies, underscoring their efforts in protecting the country’s independence.

“My brothers and family, it has been 15 years since I have assumed my responsibilities, during which, we have worked together, you and I, to enhance the drive on building a modern Jordan, the country of institutions and the oasis of security, stability, freedom, democracy and respect for human dignity”.

“Despite all the circumstances that the region is going through, we are fine, and Jordan is strong with your determination and efforts and I am confident that the future will be better and that together we are stronger”, the King said.
