His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday said in a televised greeting addressed to the nation that Jordan is "on the right track to building the country's future."
In his address, broadcast on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, King Abdullah expressed confidence that "through our collective abilities and efforts, we can meet any challenge, achieve our ambitions and secure the bright future we want for our children and grandchildren".
Referring to Jordanians as "the free and honest people" and "the source of my pride", the King said he would settle for "nothing less than the best" for his people.
He also referred to the "tough economic circumstances" the country is currently going through, adding that the government is currently doing everything that can and should be done.
He also extended special wishes to "our brothers and sisters west of the [Jordan] River, who have not experienced the pleasure of Eid for many decades and continue to suffer the injustice of occupation and absence of justice." He emphasised Jordan's continued support for the Palestinians' quest for their legitimate rights.
