His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday offered his best wishes to Christian congregations in the country on the occasion of Christmas and the Gregorian New Year.

In a cable, sent to the heads of churches and representatives of the different Christian sects in Jordan, King Abdullah expressed pride in members of the Christian community for their contributions to building the country, “boosting its development and strengthening its accomplishments”.

King Abdullah stressed the need to reinforce the values of co-existence as well as “Muslim-Christian brotherhood so that Jordan remains a model of co-existence and tolerance”.

In the letter, the King said Jordan will continue its efforts at every level to spread the message of tolerance and peace among the followers of different faiths, noting that all Jordanians, both Muslims and Christians, are one family that works together to “build the nation and its prosperous future”.
