King condoles South Africa over death of Mandela

His Majesty King Abdullah on Friday sent a cable of condolences to South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma, expressing his deepest condolences and sympathies over the death of Nelson Mandela, former South African president.

King Abdullah paid tribute to the late Mandela who devoted all his life to serving his country and working to help it regain independence.

In the cable, the King noted that Mandela, the South African leader, has become recognised at the international level as a hero of freedom due to his many sacrifices.

His Majesty also commended Mandela’s various achievements, saying: “In Jordan, we recall Mandela’s visit to our country and his partnership with us for peace and development. We share with him a feeling of responsibility for a global future where all people reap the fruits of peace, away from elimination, poverty and struggle.”
