His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday spoke with Lebanese former President Amin Gemayel by phone and extended his condolences over the passing away of his son Pierre Al Gemayel, the Lebanese minister of industry. Pierre Gemayel was assassinated on Tuesday in Beirut.

The King renewed his condemnation of the crime, which he said targeted the security and stability in Lebanon. He expressed Jordan's support for the Gemayel family and the Lebanese people. He also said Jordan supports Lebanon's fight against terrorism and its efforts to defend its security and unity.
