His Majesty King Abdullah II strongly condemned the ugly crime of the Israeli forces in the southern Lebanese village of Qana, where Israeli bombardment has killed at least 50 civilians, including women and children.

In a statement issued by the Royal Hashemite Court, King Abdullah called the act "criminal aggression" and said it constituted a clear violation of international law.

The King called for an immediate ceasefire and said that the international community bears responsibility to find a way out of the crisis and end Israel's aggression against Lebanon and its people as soon as possible. He reiterated Jordan's full support for the Lebanese people and said Jordan will continue to lobby international capitals for an immediate and comprehensive cease fire and an end to military operations which have started targeting civilians.
