His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday strongly condemned the attack that targeted a number of foreign tourists at the Romen Amphitheatre yesterday.
While checking in on the injured at King Hussein Medical Centre, King Abdullah said that the crime is against the traditions of Jordanian society and Islamic values, which uphold the respect and proper treatment of guests.
Accompanied by HRH Prince Ali bin Al Hussein and Prime Minister Marouf Bakhiet, His Majesty the King expressed his pride in the public security personnel and citizens who rushed to help the tourists when the crime happened.
The King also highlighted the bravery of Sergeant Awni Zawahreh who is currently undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound while apprehending the criminal.
King Abdullah pointed out that the criminal act will only increase the Jordanian people's determination to repulse any act targeting Jordan and its guests.
