King Concludes Visit to Croatia

His Majesty King Abdullah II concluded on Monday a visit to Croatia by holding two separate meetings with Croatian Prime Minister, Ivo Sanader and the Parliament President, Vladimir Seks.



During his meeting with the Croatian Premier, the two sides outlined mechanisms to promote bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic, educational, and cultural spheres as well as the current situation in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq and Palestine.



During the meeting, which was attended by Minister of the Royal Court, Samir Rifai, King's Advisor, Aqel Beltaji, and Minister of Planning and International cooperation, Basem Awadallah, the King pointed to opportunities of promoting cooperation between the two sides, particularly in the tourism, service, educational, and energy domains.



The two sides also discussed means to enhance cooperation between the Jordan National Petroleum Company (JNPC) and (ENI) Company for Gas and Oil Exploration with a view to explore for oil and gas in Jordan.



For his part, Sanader stressed that King Abdullah's visit to Croatia has an a strong impact on promoting cooperation between the two countries, particularly in trade and investment fields.



He also hailed His Majesty King Abdullah's efforts to achieve peace and security in the Middle East, pointing to the role of Jordan's peacekeeping forces in restoring stability to Balkan countries.



On the other hand, the King discussed with President of the Croatian Parliament cooperation relations between the two countries, particularly in the parliamentary and legislative domains.



The two sides also highlighted the regional situation and efforts which are being exerted on all levels to achieve peace and security.



His Majesty pointed to the importance of developing parliamentary ties between the two counties on the parliamentary committees' level.
