His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday voiced his appreciation for programmes implemented by UNICEF in Jordan to enhance the quality of services provided to children and to support the Kingdom's plans in this sector.

King Abdullah made the remarks during a meeting with UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake, who commended Jordan's efforts targeting underprivileged children to enable them to access health, education and protection services.

The cooperation between Jordan and UNICEF resulted in reducing violence in schools, endorsing a national strategy to combat violence against children and increasing the level of awareness in underprivileged areas on issues related to raising children among other achievements.
