His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), on Wednesday met with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff General Khalid Sarayreh during a visit to Army Headquarters.

The King expressed pride in the country's uniformed personnel who staged last week a military parade as part of the country's 60th independence celebrations.

The parade marked King Abdullah's ascension to the Throne on June 8, 1999 and also commemorated the Great Arab Revolt, and the 50th year of Arabisation of the JAF.

King Abdullah said the military parade reflected the development of the Jordan armed and security forces.
