His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday discussed bilateral ties and issues of mutual concern with Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov.

At the meeting, King Abdullah underlined Jordan’s commitment to improving ties with Chechnya, especially at the economic and cultural levels to best serve the interests of the two countries.

Discussions also covered efforts to bring about peace in the Middle East, in addition to the latest regional developments.

Talks also focused on issues concerning the Muslim world, where His Majesty cited the Royal initiatives launched by Jordan, including the Amman Message, to highlight the moderate and tolerant values of Islam.

The Amman Message was issued in 2004 based on directives by King Abdullah to counter religious extremism, eradicate misconceptions and crystallise the humanitarian and peaceful nature of Islam.

Kadyrov stressed his country’s keenness on boosting cooperation with Jordan and commended the King’s endeavours to bring about peace and stability in the region and the world.
