His Majesty King Abdullah and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin on Friday discussed efforts to achieve peace in the region.

During a phone call, His Majesty the King stressed that the upcoming summit scheduled to be held next week in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm Al Sheikh is an important step towards activating peace process and consequently helping Palestinians achieve their aspiration of establishing a viable and independent state.

Both leaders also discussed the role Canada could play to push Middle East peace process forward as well as means to enhance bilateral ties.
