King Calls for Taking Steps to Facilitate Arrival and Departure of Iraqis

His Majesty King Abdullah II called for taking immediate and practical steps to facilitate the arrival and departure of Iraqi citizens on the Jordanian-Iraqi borders.



During a meeting, which was attended by King's Advisor for security affairs, director of the General Intelligence Department, rapporteur of the State Security Council, Royal Court minister, ministers of Interior, finance, public works and housing and transportation, director of the PSD and director general of the customs department, the King issued directives to provide all facilities for passengers and trade on the Jordanian-Iraqi borders.



The King Affirmed that Jordan's strategic relations with Iraq, necessitates placing all capacities at the service of the Iraqi people in order to help them to overcome the current difficult conditions they are living in.



His Majesty also issued directives to officials to build temporary facilities on the border with Iraq to serve passengers, and to make plans to build permanent buildings to deal with the active movement on the borders of the two brotherly countries.
