His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday sent a message to employees in the nursing sector as Jordan marks world Nursing Day.

In the message, King Abdullah expressed appreciation of nurses' humanitarian efforts to provide quality health care to patients.

Nursing, the King added, is one of the noblest professions because of its humanitarian mission and values.

King Abdullah also recognised the efforts and role of the Jordanian Nursing Council, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Muna Al Hussein, as well as the Health Ministry, the Royal Medical Services, Jordan Nurses and Midwives Council, hospitals and the private sector, to upgrade the nursing profession and health care in Jordan.

He urged the public and private sectors to support educating women nurses at colleges and to create a healthy working environment that enables them to perform their duties with the highest standards.
