His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday met with a delegation from the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsman, which aims at promoting democracy, rule of law and social justice in the region.

King Abdullah voiced his appreciation for the association’s decision to hold its seventh annual conference in Jordan, noting that its theme, “towards better handling of complaints against administrative agencies”, is in line with the Kingdom’s interest in improving justice, transparency and the performance of public agencies.

His Majesty underlined the importance of coordination between ombudsman bodies in the Mediterranean basin to exchange expertise and strengthen their capabilities.

For their part, the delegates commended the King’s efforts to entrench justice and human rights and lead the Kingdom’s comprehensive reform process.
