His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday donated JD1 million to a veteran organisation to help it improve its services.

King Abdullah directed the government to draw up a comprehensive plan to develop the Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans and improve the quality of its services.

His Majesty’s donation will go to support the social solidarity fund for veterans and ex-servicemen. The gesture, which came as the Kingdom observes Veterans Day on February 15, is part of His Majesty’s efforts to improve the situation of ex-servicemen.

Last year, the King directed the government to designate February 15 as Veterans Day in recognition of the services of retired military personnel.
