His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday stressed the need to build on the achievements of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).
During a meeting with ASEZA Chief Commissioner Kamel Mahadin in Aqaba, King Abdullah commended the authority and the Aqaba Development Corporation's role in serving the local community and making the appropriate decisions that guarantee the rights of citizens and investors.
The King urged ASEZA to continue facilitating and developing the services it provides to investors in order to overcome obstacles facing the implementation of programmes and investment projects in Aqaba.
His Majesty also stressed the need to enhance and activate cooperation between the public and private sectors to benefit from the tourist and investor attractions in the governorate.
The King highlighted the need to move forward in developing the Aqaba master plan to keep up with investment growth and proceed to the implementation of investment, tourism, and industrial and transportation projects in the Red Sea resort.
Mahadin briefed the King on ASEZA's status, future plans, the challenges facing it and the projects it started to implement.
