King briefed on Western Sahara autonomy plan

His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received a letter from King Mohammad VI of Morocco, focusing on a proposal he initiated for the autonomy of the Western Sahara.

During a meeting with the Moroccan king's special adviser, Mohammad Mutasem, who delivered the letter, King Abdullah reiterated the Kingdom's support for efforts exerted to arrive at a political solution for the issue of the Western Sahara, which would provide security and stability for North African countries.

The Moroccan envoy also conveyed King Mohammad's greetings to King Abdullah and his appreciation and pride in Jordan's steadfast position in support of Moroccan issues.

Mutasem briefed the King on the latest developments concerning the Western Sahara, and the main features of King Mohammad's proposal.

He also lauded His Majesty's recent address in the US Congress, which defended the Arabs' main cause rationally and with courage.
