King briefed on Abbas US visit

His Majesty King Abdullah and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday reviewed the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and the efforts exerted to activate the peace process in the Middle East.

The Palestinian president briefed King Abdullah, during a telephone call, on the outcome of his recent talks with US President George W. Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

King Abdullah stressed the importance of continued negotiations to arrive at a solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, reiterating that the two-state formula stands as the sole solution to end the Mideast conflict and to achieve peace and stability in the region.
