King begins working visit to US

His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania, left Jordan on Saturday for a working visit to Washington, DC.

During the visit, the King will hold a summit meeting with President Barack Obama, which will focus on boosting bilateral relations in the economic and political fields, the latest regional developments and means to achieve peace between the Palestinians and Israelis on the basis of a two-state solution.

Discussions will also address comprehensive reform efforts in the Kingdom in the political, economic and social fields.

The King will also meet with other members of the US administration and Congress, and several leading political, economic, intellectual and media figures.

His Royal Highness Prince Ali was sworn in as Regent during the King’s absence.
