King to begin New York visit Monday

His Majesty King Abdullah will begin a working visit to New York on Monday during which he will participate in the 68th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Heading the Kingdom’s delegation, King Abdullah will deliver keynote remarks on the Jordanian position vis-à-vis the latest developments and challenges facing the region.

On the sidelines of the UNGA, His Majesty will hold talks with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and several heads of state and leading political and international figures. The King will also meet with intellectuals and media figures in New York.

The UNGA will discuss economic growth and sustainable development, world peace and security, human rights, coordination of humanitarian efforts and enforcement of international law and principles of justice.
