His Majesty King Abdullah and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Sunday discussed the developments in Gaza.
In a telephone call with the UN secretary general, King Abdullah warned against the dangerous repercussions of the ongoing unrest in Gaza on regional stability.
During the conversation, His Majesty asserted the need for stopping the targeting of civilians and the importance of respecting international law.
Also, the King warned against the dangers of the political vacuum resulting from the halt to negotiations on final status issues, in accordance with the two-state solution, which he said would lead to more violence and escalation.
Jordan is doing all in its power to deliver medical and humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians in Gaza and to assist them through presenting medical supplies and treating the wounded people there, the King told the UN chief.
