King, Bahraini monarch hold talks on ties, region

His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday met with His Majesty King Hamad Bin Issa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and discussed bilateral relations and the latest developments in Syria.

The two leaders highlighted the “deep ties” between their countries and agreed on enhancing them to serve the best interests of Jordan and Bahrain.

They also expressed concern over the situation in Syria, as the fighting rages on with no political solution available so far to end the crisis and maintain Syria’s unity and sovereignty.

During the meeting, King Abdullah outlined Jordan’s relief efforts to support Syrian refugees, stressing that the Kingdom will continue to provide needed assistance despite its limited resources.

King Hamad is on a two-day official visit to Jordan.

King Abdullah received the Bahraini monarch upon his arrival at Marka Military Airport in Amman.

His Royal Highness Prince Feisal, Prime Minister Fayez Tarawneh, Royal Court Chief Riyadh Abu Karaki, His Majesty’s Office Director Imad Fakhoury, diplomats, and senior officials and officers attended the meeting on Monday.

His Majesty later held a dinner banquet in honour of the Bahraini leader and the accompanying delegation. Their Royal Highnesses Prince Hassan and Prince Rashid also attended the banquet.
