His Majesty King Abdullah II, presented on Wednesday, membership certificates to members of the Executive Council of the New Asian Leaders Association who have been chosen among 100 members to manage affairs of the association for the current year.
The King awarded the founders, during a dinner banquet held in his honor in the Malaysian island of Langkawi, where he arrived to take part in the first Arab-Asian Business summit.
During the ceremony, the association announced that it will grant Jordanian youths 30 scholarships at Asian universities and institutes as well as 16 training opportunities at institutes managed by the new leaders.
Speakers during the ceremony affirmed the King's vision and commitment to make the world a better place for all peoples, a fact which prompts him continuously to adopt such initiatives that achieve such goals.
Head of the summit and deputy president of the association's board of directors, Finud Sicher, said that the King's leadership and position towards his country inspired the new generation of Asian economic leaderships to occupy its natural position to make the necessary changes.
President of the board of directors of the association, Bill Lee on his part, expressed appreciation for the King's role in supporting the establishment of the association in East Asia Economic Summit held in Singapore last October and the recent World Economic Forum in Davos.
His Majesty, who seeks to promote ties of cooperation between the Arab world and Asia in the political and economic levels, extended, during two telephone calls with the Malaysian King and prime minister invitations to them to visit Jordan.
The King and prime minister accepted the invitation, expressing pride in the Jordanian-Malaysian relations and the role shouldered by King Abdullah to support ties of cooperation among Islamic countries.
