King attends summit and meets with Arab leaders

His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday met with Syrian President Bashar Assad and Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh on the sidelines of the 22nd Arab Summit in the Libyan city of Sirte.

King Abdullah and Assad discussed the agenda of the summit, particularly issues related to the latest developments in the region and efforts to achieve peace.

Talks between the King and the Syrian president also covered means to boost bilateral ties and enhance joint Arab cooperation. The two leaders stressed the importance of increasing cooperation between the two countries.

During his meeting with the Yemeni president, the King stressed Jordan's support for Yemen in defending its security and stability.

At the meeting, which was attended by several Jordanian and Yemeni officials, His Majesty and Saleh looked into ways to enhance bilateral ties and efforts to achieve a unified Arab stance.
