King attends military sports festival

His Majesty King Abdullah, supreme commander of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), on Wednesday attended a sports festival held by the northern military zone to mark Independence Day and the 10th anniversary of the King's Accession to the Throne.

His Royal Highness Prince Ali and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff General Khaled Sarayreh also attended the festival, which featured demonstrations of taekwondo, free fighting and self-defence skills.

King Abdullah, who lit the festival flame to mark the opening of the event, underlined the importance of physical fitness for army personnel.
