King attends JAF celebration of national occasions

His Majesty King Abdullah the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), on Sunday attended a major armed forces ceremony marking the Army Day, the Great Arab Revolt and the King's Accession to the Throne anniversaries.

Upon arrival at the celebration's site, an artillery unit fired a 21-gun salute, welcoming King Abdullah who was accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania. The King was received by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Mashal Al Zaben.

The ceremony got underway with a number of Royal Air Force helicopters flying over carrying the Kingdom, Great Arab Revolt, and the army's flags. The celebration also included an air show by a jet fighters squadron.

Also attending the celebration were a number of Royal Family members, the Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Acting Senate President, Lower House Speaker, Royal Court Chief and the directors of security departments and other top civic and military officials.
