King attends JAF Army Day celebrations

His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), attends celebrations marking the anniversary of Army Day and the Great Arab Revolt on Wednesday.

King Abdullah bestowed medals on several officers and other JAF personnel, as well as personnel of the Public Security Department, the General Intelligence Department and the Civil Defence Department in recognition of their distinguished service. He also honoured servicemen who were injured in the line of duty. The King also watered an olive tree at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, where the ceremony was held, and signed the visitors’ register, congratulating the JAF on the two occasions.
