His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday underlined the role of the National Emergency Medical Services Education Centre (NEMSEC) in providing rescue and medical emergency services for citizens and visitors to the Kingdom.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the first two batches of medical technicians at NEMSEC, King Abdullah expressed his support for the centre to achieve its essential goals.
The King also requested Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff General Khaled Sarayreh to include a larger number of recruits in the centre's training courses.
The King has supported NEMSEC since its establishment by providing training opportunities for instructors, Medical Director of the Paramedics Programme Lt. Colonel Rami Farraj said.
A total of 62 employees of the Civil Defence Department and the Royal Medical Services graduated on Wednesday, he added
HRH Prince Feisal as well as other senior officials and officers were present at the graduation.
King Abdullah also watched an exercise by the graduates demonstrating practical applications in rescue and emergency missions.
The centre, supported by the Jordan Armed Forces, was established in response to the King's directives to set up a national facility specialized in providing emergency medical services.
In his address at the ceremony, Commander of the College of Allied Health Professions Brigadier General Assad Abu Odeh expressed his appreciation to the King for his support and providing all the centre's requirements.
