His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, on Monday visited the Unknown Soldier's Monument in the Jordan Valley to commemorate servicemen killed in the Battle of Karameh against Israel in 1968.
King Abdullah also attended a ceremony marking the 43rd anniversary of the battle when Jordanian soldiers repelled an Israeli attack on the small town of Karameh, which means dignity, in the Jordan Valley.
During the ceremony on Monday, the King recited verses from the Holy Quran and laid a wreath at the monument.
The King viewed the names and photos of martyrs, put on display.
At the end of the ceremony, he met with the families of those who were killed and injured in the battle.
Several Royal family members, officials and officers attended the ceremony.
