King attends army drill

His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), on Monday attended a training exercise carried out by the King Hussein Bin Ali Brigade's special operations unit.

Upon the arrival at the site of the drill in Zarqa, King Abdullah was welcomed by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben, the brigade commander and several other senior officers.

His Majesty toured a military exhibition, featuring several combat equipment, military machinery and weapons.

The drill included live fire exercises using various weapons. Earlier in the day, the King visited the JAF’s joint Special Operations Command and was briefed on its duties and training programmes.
