His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday attended part of Al Faris International Horseback Archery Competition held for the first time in the Middle East.
Competitors from Jordan and fifteen other countries in the event that kicked off in Amman, organized by the Public Security Department, to mark King Abdullah's accession to the throne, the Arab Revolt Anniversary and Army Day.
King Abdullah watched displays of old Hungarian-style combat techniques, as well as the Jordanian style. The two-day event displays three different main styles; the European Style, The Turkish Style, the Asian Style as well as various shows of horseback archery.
Earlier in the day, His Royal Highness Prince Hamzah bin Al Hussein inaugurated the event on the King’s behalf in a ceremony attended by royal family members and top military and civic officials.
