King to attend Asia Roundtable 2005

His Majesty King Abdullah will participate next week in the World Economic Forum's Asia Roundtable 2005 in Singapore.



Around 250 prominent economic, government, academic and media figures from 34 countries are expected to take part in the two-day event organized in cooperation with the Singapore Economic Development Board under the working theme, “Tilting the global balance: The strategic implications of Asia's growth.”



Participants will exchange views on recent political and economic developments in Asia and the World. They will also discuss economic integration, globalization, competitiveness and economic challenges facing Asian decision-makers.



In a keynote address to the April 28-29 meeting, King Abdullah will shed light on the political and economic developments in the Middle East as well as Jordan's reform and development plans.



His Majesty the King will also hold talks with Asian businessmen on investment opportunities in the Kingdom as well as on means to enhance economic and trade ties between Jordan and Singapore which are bound by a free trade agreement.



King Abdullah and Singaporean leaders will also discuss latest political developments in the region.
