His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday was assured on the situation of citizens, who were snowbound in snow in several parts of the country, particularly southern areas.

The King telephoned Director of the Civil Defence Department Major General Awwad Masaid and checked on the department's capabilities to deal with the current weather condition.

King Abdullah ordered the Armed Forces to back efforts by the department to rescue university students in Maan and Tafileh.

He also directed authorities to take necessary measures and precautions.
