His Majesty King Abdullah arrived in Seoul on Saturday to participate in the second Nuclear Security Summit which is scheduled to be held in South Korea March 26-27, in the presence of scores of world leaders and heads of concerned international organisations.

During the visit, the King, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein, will hold talks with South Korea’s President Lee Myung-bak on ways to foster cooperation in various fields and regional and international issues of mutual concern.

King Abdullah will also meet with members of various delegations attending the summit, which will address urgent global challenges and evaluate progress achieved since the 2010 Washington Nuclear Security Summit.

The King’s participation asserts Jordan’s compliance and commitment to the requirements of nuclear security as part of the country’s efforts to develop the use of alternative sources of energy to reduce reliance on imports.

On Friday, His Royal Highness Prince Feisal was sworn in as Regent during the King’s stay abroad.
