His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday arrived in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, on the first leg of a tour that will take him to the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic.
King Abdullah will meet Romanian President Traian Basescu, Czech President Vaclav Klaus, Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic and senior officials for talks on ways to foster bilateral relations.
During the three-day tour, Jordan will sign a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding with the three countries.
Also high on the agenda are developments in the Middle East and efforts to achieve regional peace and stability.
The talks with European leaders aim to garner support in the international community, particularly the European Union, which is currently under the Czech Republic's presidency, for efforts to re-launch peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians to achieve a two-state solution to the conflict.
The king is accompanied by Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi, Adviser Ayman Safadi, Foreign Minister Nasser Judah, and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Suheir Al Ali.
His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein was sworn in as a Regent.
