A Royal Decree was issued Thursday appointing the 55 members of the Senate for the 15th Parliament.
The makeup of the Upper House includes seven former prime ministers, in addition to President of the Senate Zeid Rifai.
The list of 55 senators also includes seven women, as well as business leaders and mostly former officials and retired army officers.
According to Article 63 of the Constitution, the Senate, including the speaker, consists of no more than one-half of the number of deputies in the Lower House.
