King and Queen visit home for the elderly

Amman
26 October 2004

Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on Tuesday visited the guest home for the elderly in Juwaydeh south of Amman.

The visit is part of Their Majesties' humanitarian efforts during the holy month of Ramadan to look into the situation of the under privileged groups and to help improve their conditions.

The home was established in 1979 by the White Beds Society to care about elderly people. During the visit, King Abdullah ordered financial allocations to the home to help it improve health care and medical treatment for the 103 people, men and women residing in the home.
