Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania took their iftar with a group of Jordanian University students at Raghdan Palace on Tuesday. The iftar banquet was followed by an open dialogue during which Their Majesties exchanged views with the students on various economic, political and social issues.

King Abdullah briefed the students on his vision to his efforts to build a stronger Jordan through building a stronger national economy that could achieve prosperity and stability for the generations to come.

King Abdullah said the concept of “Jordan First”, he launched recently, "basically depends on unleashing and stimulating potentials of Jordanian youth groups to build a promising future."

"Jordan First" should be the objective of all programs designed by our institutions and political parties in a way that helps fulfill aspirations of the Jordanian citizens, the King added.

Her Majesty Queen Rania, Prime Minister, Royal Court Chief, Foreign Minister and Ministers of Education, Planning, and Awqaf and Islamic Affairs joined in the dialogue during which King Abdullah outlined Jordan's efforts to back Arab causes particularly the Palestinian issue.

King Abdullah urged the students to interact with their local community and to be bold in presenting their views and in discussing economic and social in a way that serves the future of the country and reflects positively on people's lives.

Stressing his support to every bold step or initiative by university students to contribute to their community, King Abdullah said this meeting is the meeting in a series of meetings with youth groups particularly those at the universities to get them involved in all issues pertinent to their society and to familiarize them with the steps and efforts taken by His Majesty and the government to build a modern Jordan that could be a model in the region.

"All what are doing is geared to improve quality of life of all citizens and to fulfill hopes of the youth who form 70% of Jordan's population," King Abdullah said.

The students thanked King Abdullah for giving them such an opportunity which they described a pioneering step to help them get involved in open dialogues and discussions on issues that concern the Jordanian people in general and the youth sector in particular.
