King Albert II Hosts Banquet on the Honor of King Abdullah II

King Albert II of Belgium hosted on Thursday a lunch Banquet on the honor of His Majesty King Abdullah II.



The two sides discussed cooperation relations and means to enhance them, particularly in the political and economic fields.



King Abdullah and King Albert also outlined efforts being exerted by Belgium and the
European Union to revive the peace process in the Middle East with a view to
establish peace, security and stability in the region.



The two leaders stressed the important role of the EU and the Quartet Committee in
pushing the peace process, supporting the new Palestinian leadership, and in
encouraging the Palestinians and Israelis to implement the roadmap.



In addition, King Abdullah and King Albert reviewed latest development in the Iraqi
lands, particularly the Iraqi Interim Government's efforts to hold elections as well as
the regional and international efforts which aim at rebuilding Iraq.



The Banquet was attended by a number of Jordanian and Belgian senior officials.
